Why is Julia the Center of Your Universe?
My mom (also know as Mommacita, Momma Jules, Madre, Momma Bear), is the center of my universe because she puts EVERYone else in the center of hers. There is truly no other way to describe it. It's not even my opinion; it's just a fact!
It's hard enough to raise four VERY active, expressive, and animated kids into their adult years (I wish I could share video to better illustrate this), but she always did it with grace, style, and extreme corniness. Momma Jules is an administrative assistant by day and is truly the epitome of a family matriarch, which is necessary for our outgoing, big family. With four hectic kids all very involved in every activity, organization, and sport under the sun, mom and dad instilled in us important priorities aside from organization and scheduling- faith and family.
Even with all four kids house, she keeps her active scheduling by rotating visiting each of her baby birds who have left the nest. Now that most of us are married with children, our family has grown from a total of 6 to 16, she does everything in her power to keep everyone close. During the school years, she would send a nightly email to everyone called her "Empty Nest Report," which highlighted any updates from each member of the family, along with what the weather was in St. Marys, what wonderful feast dad made that evening, an old photo or two to remind us of what life was like pre-orthodontia and style, and an inspirational quote or bible verse. Other Julie-staples include the working around EVERYone's schedule to make sure we are together for the holidays (even if just for an hour) and also her annual planning of our family trip. Yes, she researches for weeks on end to find the perfect house, location, and date in June to guarantee that we have at least 3 days that all 16 of us spend time together. We've done a weekend in Cincinnati, Nashville, Saugatuck, Gatlinburg... and so many other fun places over the years with or growing crew.
Most of all, my mother is the center of my universe because of not only the mother she is to us, but the woman she is in every day life. She spreads her love, enthusiasm, and joy to people at work, at church, cousins, aunt, uncles, people she meets on her and my dad's many adventures, and beyond. I could not be more proud to have her as my mother and my role model. An admirable friend, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother, mother, and the center of our universe.
The universe sure could use more people like Julie :)
